Agatha Christie’s Mystery Masterpiece ‘The Mousetrap’
March 16 @ 7:00 pm - April 2 @ 5:00 pm| $35
It’s murder…and spine-tinglingly fun when an eclectic group of strangers are stranded in a remote mansion during a terrible snow storm. Welcome to Monkswell Manor (played by Lyndhurst Mansion), a recently converted guesthouse run by the Ralstons who greet an odd lot of colorful guests on their first night in business – a night challenged by the paralyzing snow storm and a nearby murder that brings fear and anxiety to all who enter.
Sargent Trotter arrives to investigate the grisly crime that appears connected to someone at the mansion. The roads are blocked, the phone lines cut and then, MURDER! Who is the murderer in their midst? Of course, the mysterious guests all have their secrets. The Sargent probes the background of everyone, and rattles a lot of skeletons. Will he find the murderer before another one is committed?
Opens March 16 and runs through April 2, Thursdays and Fridays at 7 pm, Saturdays at 3 pm and 7 pm, and Sundays at 3 pm and 6 pm. Tickets for this 90 minute performance are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors and $25 for children (16 and under – appropriate for age 12 and up). Call showclix for ticketing support at 888-718-4253. Group sales available at 914-303-6840. Free parking.
Please note this performance takes place on the second floor in the Mansion’s Art Gallery. Guests must be able to climb the 25 steps of the main staircase to reach this level as there is no elevator.
Agatha Christie, the undisputed queen of crime, penned this fiendishly delightful, nerve-shredding whodunnit. A perfectly twisted web of a play, this mystery-thriller truly invented the rules of the genre. The Mousetrap is celebrating the 64th year of a record breaking London run during which over 26,000 performances have been given. It is quite simply a great piece of theatrical history and what better place to experience it than at Lyndhurst Mansion!
